We are The Teabags, Mark, Laura and Andy, a team of friends from Darlington in the North East of England who have set ourselves the challenge of raising £1000 for charity by taking part in the 'Sucata Run', a banger rally organised by UK based charity Gemin-i.org. The rally will commence on the 27th August 2009, from Rouen in Northern France. and over four days we will (with a bit of luck) travel 1200 miles to Cabo da Roca (approx 20 miles west of Lisbon) in Portugal, mainland Europes most westerly point. Can all this be done in a P-reg Seat Cordoba, AKA - The Spanish Thunderbus??? |

Our challenge is to raise £1000 for Gemin-i.org, a UK based charity specialising in developing innovative web based solutions to improve education in over 90 countries throughout the developing and developed worlds. It works at bridging cultural, religious and digital divides between disparate peoples around the world, encouraging conversation rather than conflict. Gemin-i.org have developed innovative technology which they are using to help children around the world work together to become active global citizens. Gemin-i.org have run a large number of projects which have empowered young people to take action for a better world. Children of all ages take part in these projects. They learn about global issues and the role they can play to bring about change. To raise the money for Gemin-i.org, we need your help, any amount you can donate, large or small will be greatly received by us and Gemin-i.org. WIN PRIZES FOR DONATING!!!!! As a little incentive for you to donate towards our funraising efforts, we're giving you the chance to win prizes if you donate. If you're generous enough to donate £5.00, then we'll give you two strips of raffle tickets, and we'll give you another strip for every £2.50 donated over a fiver! Prizes so far include......A Full Service and MOT test*, a meal voucher for a local restaurant, loads of bottles of wine and some chocolates. I'm still trying to get more prizes like gift vouchers etc. The raffle will be drawn on the evening of the 23rd August 2009. Winners will be notified and published on this website and our facebook group. You can either purchase tickets from myself, Laura or Andy in person, or when you donate remember to leave your email address and we'll get in touch with you. The more you donate, the better chance you have of winning, but many thanks for any donation! * Restrictions apply - MOT test and service is limited to class four vehicles only, no MOT repairs are included. Full service covers oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs (for petrols) or fuel filter (for diesels) upto the value of £40. Any parts costing over £40 will be paid for by the prize winner.
